In 2006, he moved to New York to attend Skidmore College where he received his bachelor’s degree in art, focusing in sculpture.

In addition to his studio practice, Charlie worked for several artists and two fine art foundries in New York, where he fabricated large-scale cast metal sculptures. He has since relocated back to Los Angeles to focus on his own art and further establish his own career under the bright lights of the LA art scene. His sculptures are often rendered in different materials: sometimes wax and graphite, other times cast bronze, aluminum, or iron. Charlie now teaches part-time at Otis College of Art and Design in the Sculpture/New Genres department.
